STO DAROW – Ongoing Parish Program of Service Projects
Service to the broader community is very important to St. Mary’s Polish Parish. The parish strongly encourages its members to live the Gospel message and serve others regardless of background or faith.
The following are a few of our recent initiatives.
The parish conducts many food drives. It has a community food garden. It recently completed a Caritas Polska project in support of a disadvantaged family in Lviv, Ukraine.
The parish recently worked extensively with a local family in a very dangerous housing situation, helping to secure new accommodation and furniture.
A family skate and free barbecue for the broader community brought many people together. The parish often holds free community workshops.
The parish makes a major effort in support of Operation Christmas Child.
Beginning in the winter of 2014, the parish convened meetings of other faith communities of all denominations to support the next Habitat for Humanity project in Whitney Pier.
Please stay tuned for information on some creative joint projects emerging from this effort.
