“IMIENINY” (NAME DAYS) FOR THE COMING WEEK. Help to maintain a longstanding Polish Catholic tradition by acknowledging relatives, friends, and colleagues who are celebrating their “name day,” corresponding with the feast day of a saint of the same name. Where there is more than one saint of the same name who has been assigned a day, your “name day” is the one closest to your birthday. It is customary in the Polish tradition to acknowledge the name day of a relative or friend:

February 25: Bolebor, Cezary, Maciej, Małgorzata

NOTES TO THE HOLY FATHER FROM THE CANADIAN AND POLISH BISHOPS: “As President of our Episcopal Conference, I wish to thank you for the great kindness and unfailing support you have shown to the Church in Canada and its Bishops, as we endeavour to be faithful workers in the Lord’s vineyard. I particularly wish to express our deep appreciation for expressing the sorrow and regret of the Church for past errors toward the Indigenous People in Canada, while opening the way to a new future with the canonization of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha […]” -Archbishop Richard Smith
Piotra i teologa ukazującego głębię Ewangelii”.
NIEDZIELA AD GENTES – On this Lenten Sunday, Polish parishes pray for the projects of missionaries and for development work around the world. We pray for those in need and those who are oppressed, and for everyone who assists in a selfless manner. Here in Canada, one way to help is through the Share Lent initiative and the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace (please see the insert in today’s bulletin). “Actions for Solidarity: The Time is Now! To dream alone is to harbour illusions. To dream together, is finding solutions.” - Most Rev. Pedro Ricardo Barreto, Archbishop of Huancayo (Peru), President of the Justice and Solidarity department of the Latin American Bishops’ Council (CELAM), and a member of the Pontifical Council of Justice and Peace at the Vatican.
