OGŁOSZENIA / ANNOUNCEMENTS

FATHER RICH REPORTS:
Niech Bedzie Pochwalony Jezus Chrystus!  Na wieki wiekow!
After celebrating the Epiphany, Baptism of Our Lord and our parish “Opłatek”, we took down the Christmas decorations and sang for the last time on Sunday kolędy and carols. We have returned to the ordinary time of the Church calendar year. We will have one more opportunity to sing Christmas carols and kolędy on the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary also called Candlemas Day or Matki Boskiej Gromicznej in Polish. We will have a special Mass and procession with blessing of candles on Thursday, February 2nd at 6:30 p.m.

In today’s second reading (Corinthians 1:10-13) we hear St. Paul instruct us that “there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and in the same purpose. This is so essential in church and parish life as well as in all relations between Christians.

The Parish Rada met this past Wednesday and discussed many matters regarding the final phase of the rebuilding, donor plaques, signage etc..  

One matter of concern I brought out was the very poor attendance at our PREP (catechism) classes. For example, last Sunday, 3 out of 11 registered students were present. We will be contacting all parents to find an alternate weekday afternoon or early evening. It is a very sad state when hockey and other sports programs take the place of God on the Lord’s Day!

At the meeting, Thomas Urbaniak thanked all Rada members for their cooperation as he steps aside as Chairman, and in unanimous consent, Stephanie Black will become Chair of the Parish Rada on February 1st. Tom will remain a member of the Rada. I think I can say that we are all very grateful for his very dedicated service to the parish.

PREP classes will be held today after Mass.

"KOLĘDA" BLESSING OF HOMES: Blessings will resume this week from Tuesday on. So far, about 18 homes have been visited and blessed. There are about another 10 to go. If anyone would still like to be on the list, the registration book is still on the back table of the church.

POLAND - LWÓW HERITAGE TOUR: (July 29-August 12, 2017)  Over thirty-some parishioners and non-parishioners have registered for our Parish Pilgrimage & Heritage Tour to Poland and Ukraine this coming July. We have requested additional seats from the airline due to the popularity of the trip. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, January 31st at 7 p.m.
