And those he predestined he also called; and those he called he also justified; and those he justified he also glorified.

REQUEST FROM BEATON INSTITUTE (CBU): The CBU Beaton Institute is preparing material for the Virtual Museum of Canada and is trying to find more on Antoni Ryszard Sumiejski. He was born in Poznan in 1888, came to Cape Breton in 1911, worked in the coal mines and then as an interpreter in the steel plant. He enlisted as a Canadian soldier in World War I, was taken prisoner and died of disease. If you can provide any information about him or his family – even if it’s anecdotes you heard.

FUND-RAISING FOR THE COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION (KITCHEN): The washrooms are now complete. The final major phase is the kitchen. To help with the fund-raising and future programming for the kitchen (eg. cooking classes, community meals), the Rada initiated the incorporation of a non-profit society, the Whitney Pier Polish Kitchen Society, which will bring together parishioners and non-parishioners interested in promoting the kitchen and food garden. If you would like to be involved in any way, please speak with any member of the Rada. Thanks so much, everyone, for all your support and generosity during all the previous phases of the rebuilding … and for spreading the word!
