Uroczystość Zesłania Ducha Świętego / Pentecost

TODAY’S MASS INTENTION is for Jack LaRusic offered by Bernie & Jancia LaRusic. Wieczny odpoczynek racz Mu dać, Panie, a swiatłość wiekuista niechaj Mu świeci. Niech odpoczywa w pokoju. Amen.

Eucharistic Minister for today: Marilyn Gillis

Ushers for collection today: Robert Melski Sr., Toni LaRusic

Pentecost – literally the fiftieth day (after Easter) – marks the descent of the Holy Spirit among the apostles and other followers of Jesus. Typical church images of the Pentecost show the Virgin Mary seated with the apostles. On this day, we pray for wisdom, piety, and discernment, among other virtues. “Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love.”  “Przyjdź, Duchu Święty, i zapal w nas płomień.”

“IMIENINY” (NAME DAYS) FOR THE COMING WEEK. Help to maintain a longstanding Polish Catholic tradition by acknowledging relatives, friends, and colleagues who are celebrating their “name day,” corresponding with the feast day of a saint of the same name.  Where there is more than one saint of the same name who has been assigned a day, your “name day” is the one closest to your birthday. It is customary in the Polish tradition to acknowledge the name day of a relative or friend:
May 15: Jan, Zofia
May 16: Andrzej, Jędrzej, Szymon
May 17: Bruno, Sławomir, Weronika, Wiktor
May 18: Aleksander, Aleksandra, Alicja, Edwin, Eryk, Eryka, Feliks, Irena
May 19: Augustyn, Celestyn, Mikołaj, Pękosław, Piotr
May 20: Teodor, Wiktoria
May 21: Donata, Jan, Tymoteusz, Wiktor
