“IMIENINY” (NAME DAYS) FOR THE COMING WEEK. Help to maintain a longstanding Polish Catholic tradition by acknowledging relatives, friends, and colleagues who are celebrating their “name day,” corresponding with the feast day of a saint of the same name.  Where there is more than one saint of the same name who has been assigned a day, your “name day” is the one closest to your birthday. It is customary in the Polish tradition to acknowledge the name day of a relative or friend:
September 21: Jonasz, Laurenty, Mateusz, Mira
September 22: Joachim, Maurycy, Scott, Tomasz
September 23: Elżbieta, Krzysztof,  Piotr, Tekla, Zachariusz
September 24: Gerard, Maria
September 25: Aurelia, Franciszek, Kamil, Piotr; Wincenty, Władysław, Władysława
September 26: Cyprian, Euzebiusz, Justyna, Łękomir
September 27: Amadeusz, Damian

OGŁOSZENIA / ANNOUNCEMENTS

NEW SECTION OF THE MASS IN POLISH:
Father Paul will say in Polish “The peace of the Lord be with you always,” which is as follows: Pokój Pański niech zawsze będzie z wami …
We reply “I  z duchem Twoim” (“And with your spirit.”) – the same response we often already use.
When we exchange the sign of peace with each other, we can say Pokój (pok—ooy) or Pokój Chrystusa (Pok-ooy / Hrist-oo-sa) – meaning “Peace” or “Peace of Christ”

REBUILDING UPDATE: This past week, there was a coordinated meeting with all of the sub-trades, construction manager, architect, and Rada representatives in the same room. Work remains on track. We should start seeing some framing soon. The Sacred Objects Working Group has had successful meetings and site visits over the past couple of weeks. Pews have now been found (thanks to St. Eugene’s!), most of the vessels required for the celebration of Mass have been obtained, and there is even a good possibility of recycling suitable and attractive doors and cabinets from other churches. Thanks so much!
