“IMIENINY” (NAME DAYS) FOR THE COMING WEEK. Help to maintain a longstanding Polish Catholic tradition by acknowledging relatives, friends, and colleagues who are celebrating their “name day,” corresponding with the feast day of a saint of the same name.  Where there is more than one saint of the same name who has been assigned a day, your “name day” is the one closest to your birthday. It is customary in the Polish tradition to acknowledge the name day of a relative or friend:
August 9: Jan, Klarysa, Roman
August 10: Bogdan, Borys
August 11: Aleksander, Zula, Zuzanna
August 12: Klara, Lech, Piotr
August 13: Diana, Helena, Jan, Kasjan, Radomiła, Wojbor
August 14: Dobrowoj
August 15: Maria, Stefa
August 16: Joachim

Father Paul will say in Polish “The peace of the Lord be with you always,” which is as follows: Pokój Pański niech zawsze będzie z wami …
We reply “I  z duchem Twoim” (“And with your spirit.”) – the same response we often already use.
When we exchange the sign of peace with each other, we can say Pokój (pok—ooy) or Pokój Chrystusa (Pok-ooy / Hrist-oo-sa) – meaning “Peace” or “Peace of Christ”

NEXT SUNDAY AFTER MASS: BLESSING OF THE GROUNDS FOR THE REBUILDING OF OUR CHURCH: Please gather at our church site right after Mass. Please invite friends and neighbours to join us. This will be a special moment. If you have traditional Polish attire or a St. Michael’s jacket, please wear it next Sunday. After the blessing, we will have lunch and a short rebuilding update at the Polish Village Hall. The following is a list of parishioners who are next in the rotation to please bring a dish. Thanks so much for your help! Frania Ardelli, Marjorie Ardelli, Shirley Ardelli, Victoria Aucoin, Edyta Baczyk, Stephanie Black, Anne Marie & Jim Campbell, Denise Campbell.
