“IMIENINY” (NAME DAYS) FOR THE COMING WEEK. Help to maintain a longstanding Polish Catholic tradition by acknowledging relatives, friends, and colleagues who are celebrating their “name day,” corresponding with the feast day of a saint of the same name.  Where there is more than one saint of the same name who has been assigned a day, your “name day” is the one closest to your birthday. It is customary in the Polish tradition to acknowledge the name day of a relative or friend:
April 19: Cieszyrad, Czechasz, Czesław, Leon
April 20: Agnieszka,  Szymon, Teodor
April 21: Bartosz, Feliks, Konrad
April 22: Kaja, Łukasz, Teodor
April 23: Gerard, Helena, Jerzy, Wojciech
April 24: Aleksander, Erwin, Grzegorz
April 25: Jarosław, Marek
April 26: Maria, Marzena

PARISHIONERS WHO ARE ILL, UNDERGOING OPERATIONS, OR HOMEBOUND: Please share their names with our greeters (and if greeters could advise Father Paul or any member of the Rada that would be much appreciated). NEW: SECURE ON-LINE WAY TO DONATE TO OUR REBUILDING: As requested by the fund-raising working group we now have a secure, easy, on-line way to donate to the rebuilding of our church by credit card or debit. And you will get a charitable tax receipt e-mailed to you promptly. You can also make your donation in memory of someone and even set it up to make an automatic monthly credit card donation. This is set up through Canada Helps:

RESPECT FOR ALL CHILDREN – From a recent General Audience by Pope Francis: Think what a society would be like if it decided, once and for all, to establish this principle: “It’s true, we are not perfect and we make many mistakes. But when it comes to the children who come into the world, no sacrifice on the part of adults is too costly or too great. [We must] ensure that no child believes he or she was a mistake, is worthless or is abandoned to a life of wounds and to the arrogance of men”. How beautiful a society like this would be! … Truly a great deal.

New “IMO” (Building Fund) cards and envelopes have been printed and are at the back of the church.

REBUILDING FUND CONTRIBUTIONS: Building Fund contributions will go toward the new church. To contribute to the rebuilding if you do not have an envelope, you can also write on your regular envelope or cheque “Designated to the Rebuilding of St. Mary’s Polish Church.”
